Are humans the best endurance runners?

Humans are considered top-tier endurance runners because of unique traits like sweating for cooling, long legs, efficient breathing, and the ability to store energy well. While animals like horses or dogs can also run long distances, humans can maintain steady pacing for hours, which made long hunts and migration possible.
Another big advantage is mental endurance, the ability to push through discomfort and pace ourselves strategically. Animals do not consciously use pacing the way humans do.
