Bike Tire Pressure Calculator

Front Tire

Rear Tire

*These values are a starting point. Always check the max pressure rating printed on your tire sidewall and rim. Never exceed manufacturer limits.

Our custom calculator's algorithm produces results that are consistently within or extremely close to the widely accepted professional recommendations for all three major bike disciplines.

Features Included:

  • Dual Unit Support: Toggles between Metric (kg/mm/Bar) and Imperial (lbs/inch/PSI).
  • Total System Weight: Accounts for rider + bike + gear.
  • Advanced Modifiers: Adjusts for Tubeless setups (allows lower pressure) and Wet Conditions (improves traction).
  • Discipline Specifics: Distinct algorithms for Road, Gravel, MTB, and City/Hybrid.
  • Front/Rear Bias: Calculates the 40/60 weight distribution physics (Front tires need less pressure than rear).

General Adjustment Guidelines

The pressures above are starting points. Always check the max pressure printed on your tire or rim sidewall.

FactorAdjustment Rule
System Weight (Rider + Bike + Gear)For every 10 kg (22 lbs) change in total weight, adjust PSI by +-2 (Road) or +-1b(Gravel/MTB).
Front TireThe front tire carries around 40% of the load. Run the front pressure 3 to 5 PSI lower than the rear.
Tubeless SetupIf running tubeless, you can typically reduce the pressure by 5 to 10% for better grip and comfort.
Wet/Loose TerrainReduce pressure by 2 to 3 PSI for increased traction and control.
Riding StyleIf you corner aggressively or ride rocky terrain, add 1 to 2 PSI to prevent tire "squirm" and protect rims.
