It really depends on your gear ratio, fitness, and terrain. On flat roads, most people cruise around 15–22 mph (25–35 km/h), which feels quick and smooth. Stronger riders can easily push 28–31 mph (45–50 km/h) on flat ground, and even faster on descents if they can keep their legs spinning. Since you can’t coast, your top speed is limited by how fast you can pedal — once you “spin out,” that’s pretty much it.
